I take my cues from my students and cater my lessons to their needs. My lessons are informative, fun, and richly woven with cultural knowledge and personal stories that enhance the lesson when needed. I strive to teach in a way that is energetic and engaging.
I have a degree in French an Russian from Dickinson College (2004), lived in Russia 3 years (2001, 2004, and 2012), as well as in France for a year (2002). My advanced degree is in Russian, as I completed 6 years in a M.A./Ph.D. program in Slavic studies at U.C. Berkeley. I have taught intensive Russian courses for U.C. Berkeley, and I am experienced as a private tutor of Russian in French. I have over 10 years of classroom experience.
