My teaching method is to keep things as fun as possible. I strongly believe that young people will remain interested in a subject if they associate it with fun activities, therefore I approach my tutoring with fun activities as an end goal after each lesson. I also believe repetition is very important in language learning, so repetition of vocabulary and verb tenses is key to my lessons.
I am a French and Italian student at the University of Glasgow. I have one year of experience teaching French to primary school pupils and I have also spent time in Paris teaching English to young children so I have some experience in language teaching and am very keen to start tutoring!

WORK EXPERIENCE
November – December 2017
Voluntary Translator – Per Mondo
I voluntarily undertook a 7,000 word translation from French-English for ‘Per Mondo’, a volunteer translation agency. The main aim of the company is to help non-profit organisations by translating texts free of charge. My translation was a text on Land Rental in the Democratic Republic of Congo, for the company ‘Mercy Corps’. The whole text was 18,000 so the job was a collaboration with two other people.
August 2013 – June 2014 – Castle Douglas Primary School
In my final year of Secondary School, I undertook work experience at my local primary school once a week. I taught basic French to a group of 9-11 year olds. We covered topics such as family relations, personal descriptions, hobbies and weather. This involved creating lesson plans and creating exercises and fun activities to do with the pupils. I also assisted in a class of 5-6 year olds once a week, helping them with their reading and writing skills.
