I take a practical, learner-centered approach to teaching French phonology. I focus on identifying the specific pronunciation challenges my students face, particularly those learning French as a second language. I incorporate auditory, visual, and articulatory exercises to ensure students fully grasp the correct pronunciation of French sounds.
A typical lesson plan:
A typical lesson begins with a brief discussion of the phonological system relevant to the day's topic (vowels, consonants, etc.). We then move to listening exercises, where students distinguish between similar sounds. This is followed by guided pronunciation practice using target words or phrases. Towards the end of the lesson, I offer tailored feedback and give additional practice exercises for independent work.
