I could give class to every level of students, I am persuaded that the willingness of the student is by far what will make the difference. As a young French man, I believe that I need to be humble and I will do my best to create a link between the students and I.
I do think that the students improve while they talk about something that they care about. During my previous experiences, 50% of my lessons where the basics of French (date, hours, common verbs...) and 50% was talking about the passions of my students. It creates a link and common points, whether it be with me or with the other students, and it makes the lessons more interesting.
My name is Pierre, I was born in Paris 21 years ago and I arrived in Glasgow last month to study for a year.
I have always loved learning languages (I am fluent in English and Spanish, which is not that common in France !) and I discovered two years ago how much I love to teach my language. I started to teach French to asylum seekers in the city where I was studying (in Lille, north of France), they could not even say hello to me in French (bonjour!). Little by little, I understood how to give lessons and how to make people improve. Every student is unique, has its own level and learns better in different ways. This experience made me rethink my way of teaching and I would say that it made me a better teacher, and a more flexible one.
