About Isabelle
For more than 30 years, I've been teaching French in very different parts of the world, in a variety of settings (French high schools abroad, vocational schools, Alliance Française, local schools...) to students of different ages, levels and languages. I am familiar with the requirements of diplomas and the different school levels in the French system, as well as the expectations of the DELF exams. I am trained in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, as well as in working with young people with special needs to enable them to be included in their classrooms. I listen to my students to best meet their needs.
Listening, adapting, supporting and helping are the keywords of my teaching approach.

It all starts with a connection and a warm welcome. It's important to find the right words to put in place the best strategies after expressing your needs. Each lesson is unique, specific and non-judgmental. I try to explain as much as possible, aiming for the useful, the simple and the effective. I build on the learner's qualities and try to reduce the obstacles to learning (I'm rubbish, I don't understand anything, French isn't for me....). My documents and aids are unique and as far as possible playful, to enable long-term learning. I also take care to establish effective work habits.
