About Mélanie
A little about me... I started teaching when I moved to Canada in 2017. I always worked with kids as a social worker, mostly in schools. I also ran a bilingual program for 4 years. I enjoy witnessing the evolution of each of my students, kids or adults, and it's always a pleasure to teach. I love my country, France will always have a special place in my heart, so I am more than happy to share the language and the culture with my students. The first class is always based on knowing each other, I do believe that a tutor and a student is like any relationship and some are meant to happen and some not. Knowing you will allow me to base the class on your center of interests too, which will make it more fun!

I use methodology books and games to teach. I also use reading books and videos. My goal is to make the class always fun, which keeps everyone engaged that way! A typical lesson would start with a routine (easy questions, weather of the day...) and a quick talk regarding the last few days. Then we would go through what we will learn on that day starting with a discussion, and audios. (oral expression + oral understanding) To finally talk more in detail about the lesson and practice with writing. I have experience with kids as young as 4 years old, the discovery of the language is fully based on games and very basic vocabulary. I also have experience with kids fluent in French but struggling with grammar, writing, and spelling. And I also have experience with kids/adults of all ages and all levels. I also teach for companies.

Mélanie is a native french speaker from France and has been a great tutor for my son! She was very patient and sweet with him. My son being on the shy side, she always prepared very fun lessons to keep him entertained while learning. She knows how to adapt to different students levels or ages to offer a customized lesson. Mélanie is a very organized, trustworthy and serious teacher. If you would like to improve your french skills, you can trust her 100%!!
