The way I teach is simple: let me know your exam board, what you have been looking at and I will provide you with the necessary information to get you to your target level at least. I like to make tutoring as interactive and beneficial as possible, so if you are struggling with something in particular, let me know and we can focus on that.
I am a languages student at Cardiff University. I have been giving one to one tutoring for the past two years at GCSE level, but hopefully I can give my A-level experience to those who need it too. My past students took their exams in the Summer of 2018 and achieved 8s and 9s in both Spanish and French (equivalent to A / A*)
I am currently in my first year of university in Cardiff, studying French and Spanish with beginners Italian on the side. I’m very hardworking and work well independently to meet all my deadlines. I used to volunteer at a local hospice shop and which gave me valuable team working skills, and I am a holiday worker at a children’s after school club called the Meads. In my spare time I like to do tap, jazz and ballet. I am a trustworthy, confident person and I take pleasure in meeting and engaging with new people, as part of my course and at work. This has developed my communication skills and supports my passion for languages.

The Meads (January 2018 - Present)
I began working at The Meads, a children's after school club, at the beginning of 2018. I chose to work there because I was always curious at what it would be like working with children. From January onwards, I have realised that it was one of the best opportunities that I have taken. This is because since working with children I have been able to undertake so many valuable skills such as learning how to communicate with children and working with huge responsibilities. In learning how to communicate with the children I have had the chance on teaching them new skills such as drawing different animals.
Pharmacie à Juju, Amberieu, France (April 2017)
I spent a week at a French pharmacy, work shadowing the pharmacists, whilst on holiday at my grandparents. This involved sorting out medical orders for retirement homes, speaking and serving customers and sorting out the stock, all in French. It was a great opportunity for improving my French, whilst also being part of a busy pharmacy.
Milltown Partners (November 2013)
I spent several days at this important global advisory firm, work shadowing employees. I was able to attend some meetings with clients and help draft letters and I also went along to some briefing sessions. Learning how to compose formal business letters and documents was invaluable. It also was fascinating to be part of the company for this time, experiencing what it was like to work at such a fast pace and witnessing people speaking and working under real time pressures.
Isabel Hospice (November 2016 - November 2017)
I used to volunteer two times a week at the Isabel Hospice’s local shop in Hertford. As part of my job I helped the customers, chatting with and advising them, I also used the till and sorted out stock and window displays. I’m very happy to step in with whatever needs doing. This role has enriched my communication skills and I loved working as part of a team. Above all else it gives me a sense of pride that I was giving a little back to the community too.
In November 2014 I took part in Take over Day. This was a voluntary opportunity to go along to Hertford Museum and talk to local primary school children about the toys on display at the museum from the late 1800s to the present day. It was great fun and very demanding capturing the children’s attention. I enjoy helping younger students learn and help my history teacher and French teacher with exam tutorials and revision sessions.
Hobbies and passions
I love meeting new people and conversing and learning about their cultures and traditions, which is why I enjoy learning new languages. I am very lucky to have family living in both France and Spain which means I can practice my French and Spanish a lot as well as visiting these countries regularly. I also have a close friend who I met whilst travelling in Spain visiting my aunt and we speak most days.
From a young age, I have loved to dance. Every weekend I used to go to ballet (grade 8 RAD) tap (grade 5 RAD) and modern (Inter-foundation RAD) lessons. I feel that dancing since a young age has helped my confidence grow because of the exams to move up a grade and the yearly dance shows.
A passion of mine is drawing. From the age of thirteen I really found an interest in art and I spend a lot of time relaxing with my pencils, drawing and sketching. Another passion of mine is writing. Since September of 2018 I have started up a blog where I keep varied accounts of university life and experiences.
