About Amy
I am a certified teacher with HDSB. I have 23 years' experience in mainstream Education, and Special Education. I have been teaching French Immersion and Core French for 3 years and have my French as a Second Language, Special Education and English as a Second Language qualifications. I believe that building a positive relationship with my students is the key to supporting them while they become strong, confident learners.

My focus is on helping students to relax and enjoy the process of learning. Many children feel anxious around challenges and my approach aims to build the confidence that students need in order to take the risks that learning new concepts requires. Students in French Immersion often need additional time and practice to rehearse French language material in the areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening in order to successfully demonstrate their understanding of academic concepts.
