About Victoria
Bonjour! I'm Victoria, a PhD candidate, educator, and lifelong language enthusiast. I grew up in Toronto, where my father taught French and Italian, so a love of learning and language was part of daily life from birth.
French has shaped many of the opportunities I've had. Though soccer first brought me to Montréal for undergrad (I was a varsity goalkeeper at McGill), my language skills helped open the door to academic opportunities that eventually led me to pursue an M.A. and now a Ph.D. in Classics. I actually started university in the sciences before an inspiring Roman history course convinced me to change direction—a decision I've never regretted.
Today I live in New York with my wife, our son, and our cat. My strength as an educator lies in helping students build confidence in French and discover how language can open unexpected doors in their own lives.

Bonjour!
I'm a French tutor and educator originally from Canada but living in New York City with more than a decade of teaching experience across secondary and higher education. I have taught French as a second language, writing, and humanities courses to students ranging from middle school through university. I hold an M.A. in Roman History and am currently completing my Ph.D.
I believe language is best learned through meaningful use rather than memorization alone. My lessons are tailored to each student's goals, and I can help with a variety of needs:
