About Mara
With a decade of experience teaching French, I’ve guided learners from different backgrounds toward fluency and authentic cultural understanding. My teaching philosophy is rooted in curiosity, patience, and a genuine love of communication. I believe language becomes powerful when students connect it to their own experiences and emotions. I focus on creating lessons that encourage exploration and conversation, helping students build confidence while staying motivated. The classroom becomes a space for discovery — where grammar meets creativity, and every new word feels like a step into a living culture. Outside of teaching, I stay connected to francophone life through literature, film, and travel. These experiences continually refresh my lessons with new cultural layers, allowing students to learn the language as it’s spoken and lived today.

My French lessons focus on helping students feel at ease while learning to communicate naturally and expressively. Each session combines structured grammar with real-world conversation, pronunciation refinement, and active listening to make learning both effective and enjoyable. Lessons are designed to move smoothly from understanding to application — building confidence through authentic interaction rather than memorization.
Beginners learn practical vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence structure through role-plays and short storytelling exercises. Intermediate learners engage in discussions, creative writing, and comprehension of everyday texts, while advanced students dive into idiomatic expressions, cultural references, and literary excerpts. I use songs, short films, and dialogues to make lessons vibrant and relatable.
Every class is about connection — not just learning what to say, but how to express it naturally and meaningfully. Students leave each session feeling both linguistically sharper and emotionally attuned to the rhythm and soul of the French language.
