My sessions will be structured around you. However, I appreciate that you might not know yet how you want the sessions to run so here is a template of what the sessions might look like:
Recap of last session:
A quick quiz or discussion to see whether you remembered what we covered last session and an opportunity to highlight weaknesses that we missed last session.
Teaching of a topic you're struggling with:
Can't get your head around the Krebs cycle? Let me know of the topics you're struggling with before the session and I can have a mini lesson prepared with activities and resources to help you get your head round it. This will form the main part of the session and there will be lots of opportunity to ask me questions your teacher didn't have time to answer, or didn't explain very well (don't worry I have also had experience of this). We could also use this part of the session to answer the little questions you have about things you didn't understand in class.
Much of the exam is giving the examiners the answers they want and sticking to their mark scheme. If you know how to revise well and know how to please the examiners then you'll be well on your way to your target grade.
Hi! I'm a friendly and enthusiastic tutor looking to help you ace your exams. I am currently a fourth year medical student so I continue to study biology and chemistry in depth. I also studied these subjects at A-level and hold the National First Award for A-level chemistry coursework. I really enjoy my degree and one of my favourite aspects of the course is that I am often talking to patients and being up and about.
I decided to take up tutoring as I have been taught myself by some really great teachers and role models and I know how much of an impact they can have on your learning experience. I have previous experience as a mentor and I would love to help other people achieve their potential. Being a student myself, I understand how tiring, laborious and stressful exams can be so I hope to help you understand your subject in a way that suits you... and also in a way that will prepare you for your exams. Having taken so many exams myself, I know what it's like to be in your position so I can offer you some useful, fresh tips and resources to help you with your exams.
At university I'm part of the ice hockey team and wilderness medicine society so I make sure I give myself time off studying!

Extra-Curricular Activities and Interests
I am an ambitious and grounded individual who enjoys taking hold new opportunities. At university, I have hitchhiked from Sheffield to Latvia and summited Mount Kilimanjaro, raising over £1700 in the process. I enjoy socialising and keeping active. In my spare time I am involved in the Wilderness Medicine Society, which involves expeditions into the Peak District to simulate acute medical scenarios and their outcomes. I also play for the University Ice Hockey team and I thoroughly enjoy contributing to team endeavours. I am also a keen linguist and can speak French to a limited working proficiency.
