About Leah
I am currently working as an Assistant Psychologist and Researcher, and I spent the last year teaching psychology at an independent school in Kensington, tutoring alongside this, and completing my masters in mental healthcare.
I also worked as the college SENCo (interim) and gave experience of working with students who struggle to engage.
Prior to my postgraduate and teaching work, I completed a degree in Psychology at UCL, a university ranked second in the world for Psychology.
I have good experience of passing Psychology exams having achieved full UMS marks and an A* in my A-Level, as well as A* in my other 3 A-Levels.
I think it is important to support the students in developing their learning in a way which suits their specific and unique learning style. I also recognise the importance of regularly testing the students understanding of the subject, as testing is evidenced to increase recall by 50% - but to ensure that this is done in a manner which is supportive rather than anxiety inducing.
I have also found that my current work supports the learning of my students, as it helps to place the material we cover in a real world context.
Prefer AQA Psychology but happy to cover other specifications.
