I use every kind of methods, depending on your abilities and preferences. For each sequence that I create, there is a final activity to make you use what you learn in a real context.
I think it's really important to use your meta-linguistic knowledge about other languages to learn french. And because french could be spoken in a lot of contexts and in a lot of countries, it could be interesting for you to be familiar with all its differences and variations.
I was a volunteer teacher besides my studies (in linguistics with a major in French as Foreign Language). I organised courses for prisoners who were not french or needed to improve their grammar knowledge. I created activities to teach in a funny way to children in Burkina Faso (Africa). I was also a french teacher in an association to help immigrants to find a job and to live in France.

My company sent me to France to manage a construction site. As I needed to understand workers and to be able to explain them some proceedings, Fanie helped me on that point.
Patient, really new way of teaching (not so much time to learn, so she focused on the most important), pretty cool and relax.
So if you need to learn French for job, or if you are looking for some french lessons for shcool or for pleasure, and if you don't want to spend too much times hearing old people, I recommand you Fanie !
