About Phoebe
Hi, I’m Phoebe, a crochet tutor and small business owner with a genuine love for teaching and making! I originally learnt to crochet as a way to support my mental health (and to add a new hobby to my collection, but we’ll get onto that later!), and it quickly became a creative outlet that brought calm, focus, and a real sense of achievement. That experience is a big part of why I’m so passionate about helping others discover a hobby that feels both grounding and rewarding.
I truly believe everyone should have at least one hobby they enjoy — and crochet can be as relaxing or as challenging as you want it to be! Whether you’re learning to unwind, build confidence, or create something with your own hands, I’m here to support you in a patient and encouraging way!
On a more personal note, I’m somewhat embarrassed to admit that my craft room often looks like a small explosion has happened, and as aforementioned, I’m a self-confessed serial hobby collector — so you’ll be learning from someone who truly loves creativity in all its forms! I bring that enthusiasm into every lesson, while always keeping things organised, focused, and supportive.

Hi, my name is Phoebe, and I’m a self-taught crochet tutor who truly believes that anyone can learn to crochet with the right guidance, patience, and encouragement! We all start somewhere, don’t we?
My approach to tutoring is relaxed, supportive, and completely tailored to the individual, because everyone learns in their own way! Lessons are always taught at your pace — whether that means moving slowly through the basics or challenging yourself with more advanced techniques, or working through a set pattern and learning the stitches as we go. There’s no pressure and no rushing; the goal is to help you feel confident, capable, and proud of what you’re making in your own time!
Lessons typically last around one hour, giving us plenty of time to learn, practise, ask questions, and build skills without feeling overwhelmed. We can focus on the very basics (like holding your hook, understanding stitches, and tension), work through a pattern you love, build confidence after a long break from crochet, or explore more advanced projects such as amigurumi!
I run my own crochet business and have hosted several successful beginner workshops, teaching complete beginners how to crochet from scratch. This experience has helped me develop clear, easy-to-follow teaching methods that are especially helpful for those who may feel nervous or unsure when starting out.
My lessons are suitable for adults of all skill levels — from absolute beginners, to improvers, to returning crocheters who want a refresher or a confidence boost. Whether your goal is to relax, learn a new creative skill, or finally tackle that project you’ve been putting off, I’m here to help and support you every step of the way.
In most cases, materials are included, unless, for example, you already have your own, or we have discussed beforehand on bringing your own!

I attended one of Phoebe’s beginner Crochet lessons at a local board game cafe and I have to say, as someone who never thought they would be able to crochet I LOVED IT!
