About Hélder
My name is Helder Mario Quiala, originally from Angola (a Portuguese speaking country) doing my degree in UK. I graduated at University of Leicester in Geology with Geophysics, and currently doing my master degree at University of Coventry. I am passionate about languages, and have been sharing experiences with many international students where we get to teach our native language to each other, and since 2014 I discovered that teaching Portuguese to my foreign friends is so good, and I really enjoy it. I love also dancing, singing, playing guitar, cooking, and do photography. I am so excited to meet you and dive into this journey of learning Portuguese with you.

I love going from basics to more complex methods. One good methodology of learning a language is through a conversation, where you get to speak and listen to those who fluently speak the language. Even from the basics I love to motivate the student to speak and build confidence, and I always encourage them by sharing my story while I learnt English. But I love also going through texts, songs (sometimes) and books if necessary, or even follow a programme that leads from the very basic foundation of Portuguese and so on.
