About Pierre
I’ve always been fascinated by languages and the way they connect people. After studying at the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay where I specialised in linguistics, discourse analysis, and English for Specific Purposes, I’ve had the chance to teach French at the University of Glasgow and now at Cambridge. These experiences have shown me that the best learning happens when rigour meets kindness. What I enjoy most is helping students grow in confidence and discover the joy of expressing themselves in French – whether that means preparing for an exam, getting ready to live abroad, or simply feeling more comfortable in conversation. Each lesson is fully tailored to your needs and interests, and I make sure the atmosphere is supportive, motivating, and relaxed. My aim is simple: that you not only improve your French, but also enjoy the process and feel proud of your progress.

As a private French tutor, my approach is above all based on listening and adapting to each student’s needs. Whether you want to learn from scratch, strengthen your foundations, prepare for an exam, refine your academic French, or simply feel more confident when speaking, I aim to create a supportive environment where learning becomes enjoyable. With a background in the French classes préparatoires (elite literary classes) and at the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay, as well as teaching experience in Glasgow and Cambridge, I enjoy sharing French in all its richness – from casual conversation and cultural insights to literature, political discourse, and grammar. A typical lesson begins with a short informal exchange to set the priorities for the day, followed by targeted work depending on your goals: comprehension, oral or written expression, argumentation, always with an eye to building vocabulary and fluency. I work with high school and university students, as well as adults and professionals who wish to progress at their own pace with content tailored to their interests. My aim is simple: to help you develop a French that is accurate, confident, and alive – in a serious yet relaxed atmosphere :)
