About Giray

I originally came to the UK as an international student and recently graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Engineering and Management. I’m now living in London, exploring new opportunities and continuing my passion for music.

I’ve been playing drums for over 8 years, and it’s always been a serious hobby and a big part of my life. Along the way, I’ve enjoyed performing live, jamming with other musicians and exploring different musical styles.

Having learnt from different teachers while also being mostly self-taught, I’d love to share what I’ve picked up along the way. I want to help others discover the joy of drumming, build confidence and enjoy the process of learning music.

About the lesson

I’ve been playing drums for over 8 years, learning from both great teachers and not-so-great ones, while developing most of my skills through self-teaching. This has shaped my approach to teaching and helped me understand what makes learning effective.

My goal is not just to teach students how to play, but to help them understand music, develop their own style, and gain the confidence to practise, analyse and improve independently.

Lessons are relaxed, practical and tailored to each student’s interests and pace. Above all, I believe a good teacher should teach you how to become your own teacher.
