About Megan
I am a qualified English teacher with 12 years experience. I currently teach primary school students in Grades 3, 5 and 6 at a small international school in Mozambique. I have been working at this school since January 2014. My lessons with these students include English, Personal and Social skills, History and Art. I am also the head teacher at the school and in this role I am responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of the UK national curriculum at the school.
In addition to my teaching at the school, I also teach adult English classes to local Mozambicans. I follow a program from Beginner Level through to Upper- Intermediate level. I have been teaching local adults since October 2013 and I have a number of students currently learning at Upper-Intermediate level.

I endeavour to make my lessons as interactive as possible and to engage my students in discussions of a particular topic. With my primary school students, I use a range of methods including question and answer sessions, debates, internet research about a specific subject and comprehension work. With my adult students, I also encourage conversation and discussion to support their English skills. In addition to this, I teach them skills for grammar, comprehension work, reading and writing correctly in English. I encourage them to practise conversations and correct pronunciation and as they move through the levels of English, I ask them what they would find it most useful to learn to support them with more advanced English.
