About Richard
I have over 14 years of experience teaching pupils aged 11 to 18 and a strong passion for mathematics. I am committed to supporting every learner to achieve the highest level they can.
I have taught confident students who go on to achieve top grades, as well as learners for whom maths feels intimidating and overwhelming. Whatever their starting point, I adapt my teaching to meet their needs, making learning meaningful, engaging, and non-threatening. My feedback builds on strengths while clearly guiding learners towards their next steps.
A key part of my approach is developing learners’ metacognitive awareness, empowering them to become more confident and independent in their learning. Much of my career has been spent in specialist settings, where I have gained extensive experience supporting learners with anxiety, autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other conditions that affect how they learn.

Looking for a supportive and effective online maths tutor up to GCSE level? I offer personalised one-to-one tutoring designed to build confidence, deepen understanding and exam skills. I have extensive experience working with learners with different needs, including those with Anxiety, Autism, ADHD and SEMH. Sessions are tailored to each individual's needs and learning style. Lessons are calm, structured and encouraging without compromising challenge, helping pupils overcome barriers and make real progress at their own pace. Sessions are available online at flexible times. Fees range from £30 to £45 per session, depending on session length. Contact me to discuss your specific needs.
