About Emma
Hello I am Emma and I love sharing my passion for music with my students. I have a BA in Music and History from Lancaster university, where I studied performance to 3rd year. Following that I gained a PGCE with qualified teacher status and have been teaching in various capacities for 16+ years.
I am fully DBS checked and have performed with various amateur ensembles over the years at different locations across the country. These days I can be found on stage indulging my love for local amateur theatre and singing.

My philosophy is learning an instrument should be fun and you are never too old or too young to start. I take a personalised approach to my teaching adapting methods and repertoire to suit the individual student.
Lessons usually last for half an hour but I am flexible and offer 20 minute lessons for younger students and up to a hour for more advanced students.
I have been teaching children of all ages and abilities both in school settings and privately for 16 years. I currently teach woodwind for the local music service at various schools across Nottingham but prior to this I worked in various primary schools as a classroom teacher.
I offer:
Clarinet lessons from beginner level to advanced
Violin lessons from beginner to Grade 5.
Piano lessons from beginner to Grade 4.
Flute lessons from beginner to Grade 3.
Music Theory lessons
