About Grace
I am a fun and enthusiastic cellist working in both Essex and London.
I started learning the cello at 6 years old and quickly fell in love with all things musical. I have been a member of numerous orchestras and ensembles since the age of 8 and have continued through to adulthood becoming a member of the Aberystwyth Orchestra - Philomusica, and am currently playing with the LGSO based in the Barbican.
I completed my grade 8 ABRSM examination by the age of 16 and began teaching soon after. My expertise lie with ABRSM examinations and I have a 100% merit/distinction rate for all my students. I am also currently a tutor for Thurrock Music Services assisting with orchestras and ensembles.

I have experience teaching all ages but particularly enjoy working with young children. I adapts all lessons depending on the child's age and personality; by creating games and challenges in lessons, I manage to enhance learning, making sure lessons do not feel like a chore. I love watching children grow in confidence, and seeing them flourish in a fun and creative setting. I strive to teach everyone that music is much more than just playing an instrument! My son can be easily distracted and very chatty so Grace always makes little games in lessons to keep him engaged while learning. He has progressed having Grace as a teacher and she pushes him the right amount when he has upcoming performances or exams, but she also helps him learn more fun pieces such as music from Pirates of the Caribbean or Star Wars. We highly recommend her as a teacher!
Grace has been teaching my daughter the cello for 3 years. She started as a complete beginner and is now working towards her grade 3 ABRSM exam after receiving merits for both grade 1 and 2!
My daughter is very shy, but grace has helped her to find confidence both in discussing music in lessons and when playing.
