My teaching method focuses on explaining to students anything they don't understand through different examples and methods. As someone who has asked help from teachers before I understand how important it is to focus on basic understanding rather then a rote learning method. I will provide examples as well as go over topics in greater detail allowing the student to form a thorough understanding of the topic which they can then apply.
I have completed my mathematics A level with an A* grade and will complete my Further Maths, Chemistry and Economics A level this year in which I am predicted A*'s. I have mentored year 9 to GCSE students in Maths and Chemistry before following their progress throughout the year.
I am an extremely hard working and driven individual who enjoys a challenge and aims to adapt to any situation. I enjoy working in busy situations where I am given responsibility for my role and can apply all my effort.
Adaptability: As part of Model United Nations I had to adapt to others debates. In addition by mentoring children in mathematics and science I had to learn how to adapt to situations to provide the best tutor session. I learnt how to listen attentively and adapt my teaching methods to what fit the student best. I always aimed to provide relevant examples and adapt to new learning styles to provide an enjoyable learning experience.
Time management: Completing grade 6 piano and grade 8 Speech and Drama are huge time commitments. They taught me to use my time efficiently.
Perseverance: By taking part in Gold Duke of Edinburgh I had to encourage and support others in my group and make sure they also felt involved throughout the expedition.
Ability to coordinate: I organised scripts and assemblies throughout the year with a small team of people each week. Therefore I developed my ability to coordinate with others quickly and present information in new ways to keep people engaged.
Confidence in dealing with new people: I was given the role of Deputy Head of House and Year 7 prefect. In this I explored my interpersonal skills by organising events with many different ages and encouraging more people to get involved.
Eloquence: by raising money for the Duke of Edinburgh organisation I learnt to explain the cause to strangers in a concise and polite way to encourage them to get involved.
