About Yusef
Since completing my A levels in Maths, Physics, and Computer Science, I’ve continued to develop my passion for teaching and problem solving. Over the past few months, I’ve been tutoring A-Level students in programming and computer science, creating personalised lessons that help each student build confidence, deepen their understanding, and strengthen their coding skills through exercises & puzzles and clear explanations of complex ideas.
My teaching approach is centred on curiosity and exploration. I believe maths and computing aren’t just about following rules — they’re about discovering patterns, asking questions, and learning to think independently. I aim to create a calm, supportive environment where students feel confident to make mistakes, explore freely, and truly enjoy the learning process.

Rather than simply teaching how to solve problems, I focus on teaching how to think when solving them. My goal is to help students develop genuine problem-solving skills and strong mathematical or programming intuition, not just memorise methods. I give each student the time and space they need to explore ideas, make connections, and discover solutions for themselves.
Each session typically begins with a short, challenging warm-up question to get the mind active, followed by a main lesson tailored to the student’s goals and current level of understanding. I design a personalised curriculum based on each student’s needs, helping them build confidence and mastery step by step.
Homework may be set at the end of a topic to reinforce key concepts and encourage independent thinking.
I specialise in GCSE and A-Level Mathematics and Computer Science (AQA), but I also teach lower levels — including primary school maths — for students looking to build a strong foundation early on.
