About Gemma
I am a fully qualified, secondary mathematics teacher. I have taught maths on a 1:1 basis and as a classroom teacher in Hampshire schools for several years. I have decided to take a break from classroom teaching and now only focus on tutoring. I have been a private tutor since March 2008. I also mark for Edexcel GCSE Mathematics when time allows.
I have a DBS enhanced level certificate issued 18/07/2014.

Hello and thank you for viewing my profile. I always respond to all messages, usually within a day. If you message me and don't receive a response, please check your spam folder.
I teach Mathematics at secondary school levels, up to, and including GCSE. I also teach adult numeracy.
I offer mathematics tuition in students' own homes. The specific details of the lesson are tailored to individuals' needs but would usually start by discussing what has been going on at school. I would help with any difficulties that may be present. If all is well at school then we focus on specific topics or exam preparation.
I usually find the best way to find out about a student's needs is to meet face-to-face. I do not charge for these consultation sessions. It gives you the opportunity to ask any questions and to decide if you think I am the right fit for you/your child.
I am happy to tutor more than one student at the same time for the same price (as long as they need help at a similar level). I accept payment in cash, cheques or bank transfers . Payment is to be made on the day or in advance.
To give you an idea of the areas I tutor in, past and current tutees are from Hedge End, South Winchester (Badger Farm, St. Cross), Totton, Shirley, Bassett and other similar areas.
I am currently only available (dependent on your location) at:
7.00 Mondays (fortnightly).
I could possibly be available during school hours for students not attending school. Please ask if you are interested in daytime tuition.
I tutor as usual in most of the school holidays, if required.
