About Katie
Hello, my name is Katie and I come from England. I am a teacher at a British secondary school. I studied German Studies, Dutch Studies, and Hispanic Studies at the University of Sheffield. I also lived in Heidelberg, Germany, and studied there at the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg. I love Germany, Austria, and the cultures of these countries. Before I became a teacher, I worked in a travel agency. I organised concert tours to Austria and Germany for amateur music groups. I love to travel and use the school holidays to visit new cities.

In my lessons, I like to use a varied mix of different activities, focusing on the four key skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing. In doing so, I always combine language teaching with cultural background information. My goal is to broaden the pupils' understanding – not only of the German language itself, but also of the cultures that are closely connected to it.
