About Stephanie
I have loved learning and playing with languages since I was a little girl, always engrossed in a book or writing stories, first in my native language and later in other languages. I recently published my first book, a memoir about what it's like to raise a family in another country. I did this in both German and English and love that I'm able to reach a much bigger readership this way. Speaking another language opens so many doors!

I love speaking and learning different languages and know how daunting this can be. Having raised two bilingual children, my approach is relaxed and focused on confidence building and self-expression without fear. If you've been afraid to learn German because of the grammar, or have gotten rusty and would like to reawaken your German skills and are hoping for a playful approach, I'm the tutor for you!
Our lessons will have a heavy focus on vocabulary building through conversation. I want you to build the confidence to speak and express yourself rather than worry about correct grammar at all times. We can plan conversation topics, choose book excerpts and newspaper clips, and even watch a movie together, and break down dialogue and grammar as we hear it. We will also cover cultural differences and similarities, making sure you’re confident in any social situation.
I will tailor and pace our lessons according to your needs and goals, and am happy to go along with any topics and ideas you want to explore in your language journey.
