About Maia
I am a classical pianist working towards becoming a concert pianist, and I have been playing since a young age. Alongside classical training, I have broad musical experience as a singer and have performed in jazz, pop, and rock settings, giving me a well-rounded and flexible approach to music.
I achieved a Merit in Grade 8 piano and am currently preparing for my diploma. I have also taken part in festivals and competitions, including the Verbier Festival and Springboard Festival.
I take music seriously, but I also understand that every student is different. Some may want to learn for fun, while others may be more ambitious. I encourage my students to communicate openly so that lessons can be tailored to their goals, and we can work together to achieve them in a way that is both enjoyable and rewarding.
I am passionate about teaching and see it as an important part of developing as a musician.

I take a structured and supportive approach to teaching, with a focus on building confidence, strong technique, and a genuine enjoyment of playing the piano. I believe every student is different, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each individual’s pace, goals, and interests.
Lessons are typically 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the student’s age and level, although longer lessons are often more beneficial for steady progress.
I mainly teach beginners (Grades 1–3), as well as students who want to learn specific pieces or develop a solid foundation in piano playing. In lessons, I focus on developing good technique and hand strength, while also introducing important musical skills such as ear training, sight reading, and basic improvisation. I believe these are essential tools to help students become confident, well-rounded musicians from an early stage.
My aim is to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and able to progress at their own pace.
