About Amy
I'm Amy, I graduated in 2023 from the University of St Andrews with a first class degree in French and German.
I have lived in both France and Germany and I am very enthusiastic about travelling and learning about how the languages are spoken by native speakers. Now that I'm back in Scotland, I still keep in touch with my friends I made on my years abroad and I love reading and watching series in the languages.
Languages are sadly not being prioritised in schools as much nowadays which I think is extremely sad. I want to inject a new passion for languages into British school and universities, as it's such a helpful skill to have and you'll stand out as not many people study languages anymore!
In my free time, I love walks in nature, hillwalking and the beach. I also make sea glass jewellery and run a small business. Cooking and baking also make me happy - I'm not hard to please!

Hi, I'm Amy, a recent graduate of the University of St Andrews with a first class degree in French and German, which included language, literature and translation.
I am now enthusiastic to tutor university level students and high school pupils to reach their language studying goals! We will discuss what you would like to progress, what you find easier and harder about your lanaguage study, and if you have any time limits e.g. "this is what I need to know for my exam on this date." I will then put together a personalised plan for you so we cover everything you need and want to!
I lived in Germany in the academic year 2020-2021, and in France in 2023-2024, and it helped improve my language skills immensely. I have a good understanding of what is said in the countries by native speakers instead of just what your textbook teaches you. I also have experience teaching English in these two years and tutoring English in my free time, so I have teaching skills that I can pass over to tutoring French and German.
