My name is Rufia Alam, and I have specialist knowledge and expertise in teaching science and psychology. I have been tutoring for 4 years. I am dynamic in adapting to the needs of individuals at various stages of their learning curriculum. I have extensive experience in teaching up to and including A level Biology and Psychology, and up to and including GCSE Chemistry, covering different exam boards (e.g. AQA, OCR and Edexcel). I encourage my students to push themselves academically whilst providing a comfortable and friendly learning environment. My teaching style is teacher led, interactive and fun which helps students gain confidence in answering questions objectively and accurately. This enhances the student learning experience and provides a comfortable setting. I also have a background of over a decade of practising as a hospital doctor. During this time, I have taught medical students and new doctors during their day-to-day work. I have gathered a lot of knowledge that I find extremely rewarding to pass on to my students and have applied the skills drawn from these experiences into my teaching.
