About April
I am an instructor who loves to see my students achieve, and it is my job to ensure that they do achieve their goals. Having experience with students who have learning disabilities, I am a very patient individual. Not only is my job to help students, but it is also to build a strong and trusting foundation to ensure their success.
With a background in Psychology, I have an adaptability to work alongside students on different levels with different abilities. I'm also more in tuned with how a student is feeling; so if I can tell they are becoming overwhelmed or frazzled, I know to take a step back, redirect, and try a different method.

I am approaching the end of my Master's in Teaching and I have experience with tutoring. My bachelor's is in Psychology, and I was science heavy for my Associates. I have experience with working with elementary students with ADHD. I also have some experience with tutoring college level students.
My style of teaching is very student driven, I like to get to know my students so we can work together at their pace and understanding. I encourage creativity and critical thinking. I also believe the more connections we make with our learning, the better the information is retained.
My lessons would consist of first getting to understand their comprehension of the material and the areas they are struggling with. Then we would build off of what they already know to solidify what they are struggling with.
