About Annie
I attended the California State University of Long Beach where I studied Math-Education and received my Bachelor of Science. I continued my education at the same institution where I completed their Single Subject Teaching Program and received my California Teaching Credential. I completed my student teaching at Fountain Valley High School where I had taught Algebra 1 with guidance of my master teacher. I also completed a long-term substitute assignment at Ocean View High School where I was responsible for continuing instruction for 2 periods of Algebra 1, Pre-Algebra, Consumer Math, and a Dual Enrollment Computer Science Course. With that said, I am ready to take on whatever mathematical needs you may need.

As a tutor, I recognize students have different learning styles and it is important to me to differentiate my instructions to cater to various learning needs to make my lessons accessible to diverse students. With new lessons, I introduce through guided instruction where I focus on examples first shown through modeling which provides students with a guideline of what is expected of them. I assess student understanding by their ability to re-teach/re-explain the concept. I am skilled in secondary teaching, but have had experience tutoring elementary school students as well.
