About Didem
I have 16 years of teaching experience. I have worked at universities. Within that 16-year of teaching experience, I had the opportunity to work as a coordinator. I developed and facilitated all aspects of curriculum, assessed and developed supplementary materials, revised and edited exams, and carried out managerial duties related to the program while working as a coordinator. For professional development, I attended many workshops. I attended an Educational Technology Course at British Side. I got my CELTA in 2015 from International Training Institute. I gave workshops at conferences with my colleagues, which contributed a lot to my teaching.

How I conduct my lessons are based on communicative approach where learning the language successfully comes through having to communicate real meaning. When learners are involved in real communication, their natural strategies for language acquisition will be used. I believe that test-teach-test method is also helpful to see the level of students and prepare lesson plan accordingly. My lessons start with a warm-up. Then a reading or listening task comes, which is also used as a context for the grammar subject. After the presentation of the grammar subject, it is time for practice. Lessons end with a production part, which is usually a speaking or writing task. I aim to build a good rapport with my students as I believe that if students feel comfortable and enjoy in a lesson, then learning happens naturally.
