About Richardson
As a French language instructor/tutor with a background in Applied Linguistics and a master's degree in French, I understand that learning a new language requires patience and understanding. That is why I tailor my teaching to my students' needs. I am flexible and I provide constructive feedback on students' performance.
As a language specialist, I view teaching/tutoring as a lifelong learning experience which requires further qualifications and staying updated with new language teaching trends/approaches.
To achieve the goal set out in a lesson plan, I make sure that I create a friendly environment while focusing on interactions and teaching meaningful input so that grammar doesn't have to feel like a burden. My goal is to facilitate language acquisition.

As a French instructor/tutor, I use the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT). Based this approach, I believe repeated and meaningful exposure to the language as well as interaction are of paramount importance in facilitating language acquisition. In a typical lesson plan, I assign communicative activities around the goals of the lesson of the day. Those goals may be teaching grammar/teaching vocabulary. Speaking is really important in my teaching. I am very patient and understanding as I know these are very important in language learning. I usually reinforce grammatical items which are less salient than lexical items by focus on meaningful input and providing constructive feedback. The lessons are designed for all levels (undergraduate, high school or anyone who wants to be communicative in French).
