About Mia
I am a recent university graduate who has studied music since I was 4 years old. I truly love everything about music, from music theory to performance and pedagogy. In university I have done up to Music Theory III, and taken classes in conducting, jazz theory, world music, music history and viola performance. I have played in top orchestras like the G20 Orchestra and South Asian Symphony Orchestra in addition to being in the college orchestra all semesters. I would love the opportunity to share my love for music through teaching, and hopefully helping others find the same joy in music.

I use a clear, structured, and interactive approach focused on understanding the basics of music theory and also work with the student on their goals. Lessons combine guided explanation, demonstrations, and independent practice with feedback. I tailor sessions to each student’s needs and personal interests, because I believe that each person's musical journey is unique and must be spearheaded by the student's interests. My lessons suit anyone from early elementary to university students trying to learn about music, how to read sheet music, music theory (all levels), or want violin or viola lessons.
