About Veronica
I have been working with students in classrooms since I was in high school volunteering. By my second year of college I was already starting my first placement at a school.
The next year I was assigned to a middle school focusing on English language instruction. My senior year of college I had a wonderful experience with my mentor teacher, a high school English and Math instructor. I also got to learn a lot about my students throughout the whole school year.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Ohio State University in the spring of 2024. Since then I have taught multiple forms of art and math skills to students mostly in middle school grades 5-8th.

I focus on building my students' success by creating connections between the content and what they relate to.
I strive to meet my students' needs and take several steps to assess their knowledge throughout the learning process.
When participating in the lesson I am always open to questions my students have. There are many times when asking the question to the class and having them consider the answer can help strengthen their understanding and critical thinking.
If a student has a question there is a good chance that having them get the answer in the moment will help to better remember it, than if it were asked later.
In a small group setting it is much easier to get 1-on-1 feedback and support. It can also alleviate the pressures of students falling behind or feeling uncomfortable asking questions (as in a large class of 25+ students).
