About Maddie xo
English Language has always been my favourite subject, and I was really proud to achieve a Grade 8 at GCSE. I went on to study Criminology at Swansea University, where I graduated with a First. I’ve always enjoyed English and I love being able to share that enthusiasm with students. My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to what each student needs — whether that’s building confidence, practising exam-style questions, or just making English feel a bit less overwhelming. I work with students of all abilities and I’m patient, encouraging and focused on helping them make steady progress. Tutoring is something I genuinely enjoy, and I want my students to feel more confident each week. I’m also saving up to travel, and tutoring is a great way for me to do that while doing something I find rewarding.

I like to keep lessons supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student. My goal is to help build confidence as well as skills, so students feel ready to take on any exam question. Lessons usually mix clear explanations with lots of practice — whether that’s working through example answers together, breaking down tricky reading questions, or building up writing techniques step by step. Each session is one-to-one, online, and lasts about an hour. I make sure every lesson fits what the student needs most — sometimes that means practising past papers, other times it’s focusing on specific skills or topics they find difficult. I support secondary school students of all abilities: Years 7–8: Getting ahead by building strong skills early on. Years 9–10: Practising with mock questions and improving exam technique. Year 11: Extra support and focused exam preparation in the run-up to GCSEs.
