About Lana
I applied to do a masters in creative writing and I applied for my teacher training in the same week. I did not know what to pick.
Eventually... I chose teaching. Why? Because the thrill of inspiring others to love the topic I have come to adore was so much more important than fulfilling a self-rewarding desire.
I love to teach.
I have a daughter, Ella, she is four. And I have a son, Oscar, he is one. Teaching and motherhood are so alike and yet so different. However, they do ensure that I am a well rounded person, capable of patience and forming good relationships. I'm not afraid of the truth, nor of strong communication.
I am a warm person, and I always see a silver lining.

It is my job to gage your understanding so that I can scaffold and build upon the knowledge you already have.
I have worked with highly able students looking to push their grade into the next bracket; and I have worked with students that struggle to 'get' English but want to do well.
Either way, I believe I can help anybody with the right attitude. I have a vast knowledge of, both: accessible texts and challenging texts, and I have an ability to know which one to pull out of the bag to enhance engagement.
