My lessons are engaging and meant to engage the WHOLE learner. I love to teach using discussion and lots of visuals to help bring the content out of the page to build strong conceptual understanding! However, more than anything, I want to learn how YOU learn best and help you grow by capitalizing on your strengths. My lessons are for the primary grade levels and are systematic in approach. Everything I teach is organized and my instructional approach seeks to teach students the enduring understandings of the subject matter at hand. I love teaching! I plan lessons out methodically and make sure that I am taking good care of the details. I love to help students learn one on one to get to know them and their learning style to best help them grow. I always start with something fun, or even a quick catch-up. Then we jump right into learning where we will cover topics that you might need more scaffolding in. I will start with the basic of a concept to ensure students have background knowledge of what they need help with and we will go from there! It is all about the process of learning, growing, and developing. Students want to feel heard when it comes to their learning, and my job to hear and help the take initiative with concepts that they might feel are hard to tackle. I plan lessons starting at the basics, always incorporating review. I would love to tutor students in the primary grades, who need help with any concepts in the English subject area! I also have an interest in proofreading students papers from all grade levels and even higher education! I have training in the structured literacy and have a passion for teaching phonics!
