I am a trained artist and designer with over 10 years' experience in the creative arts. I was privately educated at St Paul's Steiner School known for its holistic approach to learning and creativity. Steiner education's main materials are natural, simple, and often handmade, including wood, wool, silk, beeswax, and plants, used to foster creativity and a deep connection to nature. This form of education intends to foster the needs of children academically, physically, emotionally and spiritually, building confidence and deep care of other humans and the world around us. (Main Lessons) with a balance of artistic, practical and intellectual content, with engaging, real-world learning experiences. In my lessons, I work using some therapeutic art techniques to cater for individual students' needs and using a variety of resources which I have in my library of books. This is from arts and crafts, textiles, drawing, perspective work and botanical illustration. My training in contemporary and historical art and art history enables my teaching to be centred around specific project goals from beginners to more advanced creative individuals. For more advanced learners, some art history lessons can be provided covering the basics of impressionism, cubism, post-impressionism or renaissance for example. Together a unique course can be planned with teacher and student to cover tactile or more conventional approaches to learning. This could be a lesson in collage making or basic painting skills. I have trained in performance design and shadow puppetry if a student is interested in developing a personal project or a project for school. I teach remotely from my home studio where I can actively carry out demonstrations and critiques on art projects and sketchbook work. I am also able to advise on ongoing school projects and homework. Lessons can be 30 - 90 minutes depending on the individual needs with a minimum of 3 beginner lessons and a maximum of 6 weeks 1-1 afterschool classes. I am able to provide some flexibility depending on my freelance diary and ad hoc work schedule.
