About Patrick
I am a young and enthusiastic teacher, having taught English as a foreign language in Germany for an academic year after finishing my degree. Some of my former students are now studying English as part of their university programmes and at Arbitur ("A" Level). Much of my focus was on British literature, society and culture, so it has been exciting to learn that several of them have applied to study at British universities. I have previously taught Latin to a small group of sixth-form students, several of whom went onto study Ancient History and Classics-related degrees.

Having studied a languages degree at UCL, I teach Swedish and Old Norse from beginner's level up until about an A Level standard.
For Swedish tuition, my lesson structure is very flexible upon the learner and what they want to achieve. I prefer not to focus on one textbook but use an engaging variety of texts, videos, songs and artworks to learn the language with. When it comes to grammar, I enjoy making my own clear resources that suit the individual.
If you choose to study Old Norse then we will explore the language with the use of an excellent textbook and tailor-made language exercises before tackling original extracts.
