About Jessica
Hi, my name is Jessica Stevens! I am a third grade math teacher in Louisiana. Math is my passion! I love to bring math to life in entertaining ways. I love the outdoors. I use a conceptual approach to teaching. I use many Kagan strategies, songs, and movements to associate math with things we can sing, do, or relate to our body. A typical lesson plan will involve a fluency warm-up (skip counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and so on), a word problem, then the lesson to be focused on. After the lesson, I have a debriefing and an exit ticket. My target group is for fourth grade and under.
