About Xinyi
Hey there!
My name is Xinyi, or you can call me Cathy. I come from Nanjing, China, and I have just finished my study in Global Health Policy at the University of Edinburgh.
As a bilingual speaker, I believe that learning a language not only opens doors to new cultures and opportunities but also enriches our understanding of the world. Teaching Chinese has always been a fulfilling experience for me, as I enjoy helping others achieve their language learning goals.
I'm also easy-going and love sharing aspects of Chinese culture with my students. I'm here not just to help you become proficient, but also to create a friendly and enjoyable learning experience.

I offer personalised 1-on-1 Chinese lessons both online and offline in London. Each lesson is customised based on your current skills and what you want to achieve. It's totally student-centred. If you are interested, I am also happy to introduce you to Chinese culture, from traditional festivals, food, and fashion to what's trending now.
Usually, each lesson lasts about 60 minutes, giving us plenty of time for teaching, reviewing, and practicing. We'll decide together if you need any homework to help with your studies.
I've taught both English and Chinese and got great feedback. All levels of students are welcome, so whether you're a complete beginner or more advanced, I'm here to support your learning journey!
