About Bethany
Arriving at university, I was entirely unprepared for what it really means to study Philosophy. As a result, my progress in the first two terms of my experience at Oxford was largely hindered, as I lacked knowledge of the skills that I now know to be essential to Philosophy.
Four yeas on, and not only have my own Philosophy skills developed greatly, but I have been able to assist other students in enhancing their own skills by introducing them to key concepts and processes within the fields, whilst also guiding a number of students in their Oxbridge applications for courses including, or related to, Philosophy.

Having completed four years of Philosophy at Oxford through a broad range of papers, I have learnt not only the fundamental skill of critical thinking, but also the skill of essay-writing using logical reasoning and an expository and evaluative structure.
During my time at the University of Oxford, I have had success with students both in private tutoring and in voluntary mentorship programmes, introducing students to key concepts in philosophy, as well as improving overall essay-writing skills (a skill which is transferrable and useful to a vast array of other subjects).
With papers in Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, Knowledge & Reality, Logic & Language, Practical Ethics, and Feminist Philosophy, as well as Preliminary Examinations in General Philosophy, Introduction to Logic, and Moral Philosophy.
I am currently a freelance tutor for a leading online education company, providing curated courses in Philosophy for students from ages 12-18.
