About Emma
I am a 2019 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and just recently graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2023, where I studied Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science. In high school, I often tutored younger students in math and science courses. At UVA, I taught a supplementary calculus II course for engineering students where I created lessons plans for each week and gave my students assignments for extra practice. As I start graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh in the Fall and I truly love to work with students, I am hoping to begin more tutoring back home in Pittsburgh!

Growing up, I was never steller at math, and it frustrated me that numbers did not comes easily to me as it did some of my friends. Math is certainly difficult, and often, students are taught that understanding the subject relies on natural ability. I found that I could work hard and actually teach myself to better understand my math courses, if only I could believe in myself and my determination to succeed. My goal is to teach students that they can and will succeed at learning math, not because of natural talent, but because they want to succeed. rom elementary math to calculus, I teach valuable math skills which apply to topics across the board and ensure that students feel comfortable and confident in their abilities.
