About Ruby
Hello, my name is Ruby :) I recently graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Geography, prior to this I completed as Art Foundation at the Arts Univeristy Bournemouth. I brought my interest in geography and love for art together in my dissertation which focused on the important of context in experiencing art.
I am fascinated by how the natural world works, an interest I was able to deepen during university by studying glaciology and oceanography as well as gaining in-depth understanding of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean through multiple modules. I am passionate about protecting our planet against the harms of climate change, a theme I engaged with deeply at university.
Contemporary issues in politics and international relations are of great importance and ineterest to me. I have a good knowledge of the history and contemporary state of feminism, queer theory and environmental politics- despite no longer studying at univeristy, I continue to expand my knowledge and understanding of these topics through reading and talking to others.
As previously mentioned, I have focused my research on art and geography. I have a grounded knowledge on art and the environment and art and ecology, so would also be more than happy to share this knowledge and help students within this niche.

I like my classroom to be warm, non-judgmental and open. My teaching approach delivers key content through presentation and uses discussion to develop knowledge further in a 30-60 minute lesson. There is always time for questions and further clarification if that is needed! I have experience in teaching as I am currently a practioner in a forest school, running 1 to 1 lessons with young people. I am happy to tutor KS3 to A-Level, ie ages 11-18.
