About Semhal
My name is Semy and I was born in Las Vegas, NV. I am 22 years old and currently live in Atlanta, GA. I am an 8th-grade special education math teacher. I chose to work with students who need a little more help because I know that every student can learn when they are given the right support, patience, and encouragement. I believe math should feel accessible, not overwhelming. My goal is to meet students where they are, break concepts down in a way that makes sense to them, and build their confidence step by step. Watching students grow and realize they are capable of more than they thought is the most rewarding part of what I do.

Hi I’m Semy! I am a teacher who understands the struggle of being a student in today’s schools because not too long ago I was one! In school I struggled with Mathematics the most and it was a subject I wanted to avoid at all times. As I got older I realized it wasn’t that I was bad at math, it was a fear of making mistakes. I can teach you how to get over your fears of making mistakes in math and push yourself to think critically, build confidence, and truly understand the “why” behind what you’re learning. My goal is to create a safe, encouraging space where you feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that’s how real growth happens. Together, we’ll turn math into a subject you feel confident tackling, not avoiding.
