About Shane
I’ve been a creative for as long as I can remember—it’s more than just a career for me, it’s both passion and purpose. I’m currently a full-time design director working in London. I have spent just 10 years in the creative industry working in various award-winning agencies as both a full-timer and freelancer. I’ve worked across experiential design, 3D structural design, digital, branding, and graphic design. It’s been a varied and exciting journey that’s given me a broad skill set and deep understanding of how design shapes the world around us. Over the years, I’ve mentored many interns and junior designers in industry roles, guiding them away from creating surface-level, style-over-substance work, and toward design with purpose and character. I’ve given various talks at schools and universities where I’m so inspired to be surrounded by emerging talent with fresh ideas!

If you’re passionate about graphic design—or any creative pursuit—it means you’re passionate about storytelling. Every design tells a story, and the strongest brands are built on narratives with depth and purpose. It’s this thinking at the core of my teaching. I help aspiring creatives—whether students, early-career professionals, or those pivoting into the industry—understand what makes a design work. We cover how to communicate ideas clearly, critique your own work, speed up your ideation process, and ultimately build a stronger portfolio, website, and voice as a creative. While I can and do teach technical tools like Photoshop and Illustrator and enjoy doing it; that’s not my primary focus. YouTube is packed with tutorials. What I offer is something harder to teach: how to think like a designer. Design is visual. We learn by doing. That’s how I teach: hands-on, collaborative, and always tailored to your creative journey. Lessons typically run 1 hour and are shaped around your goals and experience level.
