About Matthew
My name is Matthew Pope I am 22 years old and live in Bristol. I have 4+ years teaching experience working with children (valid enhanced DBS) and adults alike in 1-1 settings as well as large groups.
I have always had a passion for music, my mother a keen classical guitarist and my grandfather a trumpet player. I have played in bands from as young as 12 and still continue to do so now. I enjoy all genres and always find myself discovering new music that I love every day.

I have been providing high quality instrumental tuition to all ages and abilities in Bristol and the surrounding areas for 4+ years.
I hold a full valid enhanced DBS background check.
As a guitarist of 16 years myself I have achieved and taught all levels of the RSL electric guitar syllabus. I provide 1 - 1 or small group tuition.
As well as this I have been working regularly in schools providing group band sessions as well as running evening classes for adults - although I regularly teach not using the grading system and instead my own materials to cater to an individual student's taste/needs!
I am also a very experienced bassist working with lots of bands and regularly filling in on bass when I am not playing guitar with my own band.
Good technique and being able to play music that you enjoy are some of the most important things you can have as a musician, so whether you want to scratch up on your technique, learn to jam along to your favourite tracks or are a complete beginner, please do get in contact!
