About Emma
I keep my guitar case by the door and a spare pick on the desk because you never know when inspiration will strike. My 6 years of experience across 255 students have shown me that a relaxed environment is key to learning.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, but my deep love for guitar allows me to help others find their own voice on the fretboard. It is helpful to know that I balance my academic background with a very informal, upbeat style.
You might find me humouring a difficult chord change or slowing down a blues progression to keep things moving. I often joke that I am the resident London teacher who will always be honest about your practice habits. My focus is on keeping the instruction light while ensuring you build a solid technical foundation. I promise to keep our sessions grounded in the music you actually want to play."

The smell of a fresh set of strings sets the tone as we start by checking your finger placement for optimal comfort and sound. I teach you how to navigate improvisation, soloing, and reading sheet music with a patient, steady pace that builds your confidence over time. We will explore acoustic and electric techniques, fingerpicking, and reading tabs to make sure you have a complete skill set for any situation. Whether we are drilling lead guitar patterns or working through complex blues progressions, I ensure that you understand the theory behind every note we play.
My 6 years of experience in the music industry inform the way I structure our time, making sure you gain practical skills you can use immediately. I share free chord charts and tab sheets after each class so you can keep practising the specific techniques we covered today. It is truly a joy for me to watch you develop your own unique sound on the instrument.
