About Heather
I started my musical career as a trumpet player, and studied both classical/jazz trumpet. I graduated from Goldsmiths, University of London with a BMus(Hons) in 2020. I also have Grade 8 distinction (2012) and ATCL Diploma in classical trumpet performance (2014). I have been playing the guitar for 15+ years. Initially, the guitar was a vehicle for writing songs, but I quickly fell in love with the instrument and have since become a technically accomplished guitarist in my own right. I primarily play indie/rock/pop, in my own band, and also as a session guitarist in various other projects. Being able to support others in discovering the joy of songwriting is something that I find deeply rewarding. Writing songs helps me to process my emotions and to gain a deeper understanding of myself, and I have been releasing my own music since 2016. I am based in Sherwood, Nottingham. I teach 1-1 lessons for all ages. I can teach from my home, or I can travel to you in the Nottingham(shire) area.

Playing the guitar is fun. It can be cathartic. It can be joyful. It can be a way to connect to our emotions and express the things that we might not be able to put into words. It can encourage self-discipline, which in turn builds confidence and self-esteem. We can build unique working relationships with others, and develop teamwork and communication skills. We can tap into the fourth dimension and harness the ineffable flow of creativity. My goal as a guitar teacher is to equip students with the skills and knowledge to develop their own musical voice. I aim to help students gain confidence and access their innate musical potential. I wholeheartedly believe that every single human being’s life can be enriched by playing music, bar none. As a teacher, I can support you wherever you are in your journey. I deliver 1-1 lessons for all ages; students who are brand new to the guitar, improving/intermediate students, adult students, casual guitarists, and anyone in between.
